The wait is finally over. The 2021 Summer Fun Run kicks off this week on Wednesday, May 26 at McCloud Nature Park in North Salem, Indiana. This year marks the 13th year for the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County’s (PFOHC) yearlong race series, and one thing is for sure—this event would not be possible without our faithful title sponsor, Hendricks Regional Health.
The partnership between PFOHC and Hendricks Regional Health isn’t new. In fact, the local healthcare system has supported the Summer Fun Run since year one. And when you look at their mission and vision it’s easy to see how giving back to our parks is the perfect fit. Part of Hendricks Regional Health’s mission is to improve the health of the region and its vision includes a focus on community support.
“We are all about supporting our community while helping individuals and families improve their health and wellness,” said Adam Scott, Hendricks Regional Health Foundation and Community Relations Director and PFOHC Board Member. “By supporting the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County and its signature family-friendly event, we are investing in the well-being of those who we serve—our patients, associates and their families.”
The Hendricks Regional Health associates also get in on the fun, participating in the series and recruiting their friends and family members to join the weekly runs and walks while enjoying the many beautiful trails and parks that Hendricks County has to offer. To take it one step further, Hendricks Regional Health associates also volunteer when opportunities arise throughout the summer.
“Our goal is to simply encourage the community to explore our local parks and trails,” said Scott. “We are honored to join our family, friends and neighbors in West Central Indiana on their journey to better health through this partnership and unique event.”
The Parks Foundation is grateful for this longstanding partnership with Hendricks Regional Health whose investment allows PFOHC to fulfill its mission of enhancing recreational opportunities throughout the entire county.
