The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County (PFOHC) had lofty goals for the 2023 Summer Fun Run & Walk presented by Hendricks Regional Health—and thanks to community support, we exceeded these
targets which will allow us to offer even more support to our parks and trails!
If you participated, you know the Summer Fun Run & Walk is more than just a race. The 2023 event marked the 15th year as the primary fundraiser for the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County. The 12-week run/walk series, which kicked off in May and culminated in August, brought hundreds of people out to explore the parks and trails in our community. Together, we ran/walked more than a full marathon—29.4 miles if you participated in all 12 weeks!
The 2023 Summer Fun Run & Walk Series was a success with 580 participants and over $57,000 raised to support our parks and trails. That’s 100 more participants and $5,000 more than last year! This funding came from various sources, including sponsorship, registration and individual donations.
With these resources, PFOHC will provide grants to local parks and trails to fund special projects and amenities like playground equipment, doggie waste stations, inclusion toolboxes, tree seedlings, lighting systems, picnic tables and more.
