The 2023 Summer Fun Run & Walk kicked off last week at Talon Stream Park in Plainfield, and wow, what a turnout.
It was a toasty day with temps in the 90s, but the scenic 3-mile trail offered plenty of shade, and our sponsor of the week, Banning Engineering, provided refreshing ice-cold water. The presenting sponsor, Hendricks Regional Health, was also there handing out goodies and answering questions. We even had a special visit from the Plainfield Chick-fil-A Cow!
Nearly 350 eager Summer Fun Run & Walk participants showed up to collect their t-shirts, stickers and take on the week-one course. We saw lots of smiles and high-fives as people ranging in age from two to seven-two victoriously crossed the finish line.
