In 2021, The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law by President Biden. This $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill was designed to speed up the country’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing recession. $350 billion was designated for state and local recovery funding.

Hendricks County received over $33 million in ARPA funding and reserved a portion of it to assist nonprofit organizations. The Hendricks County Commissioners and Council partnered with the Hendricks County Community Foundation to design and conduct a grant application process to distribute ARPA funds.

The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County is a proud recipient of $19,400 from the competitive grants allocated in the process. These funds will be used in 2023 as PFOHC works to advance its mission and help parks and trails in Hendricks County thrive.

PFOHC is grateful for the due diligence of the Hendricks County Commissioners, Hendricks County Council and HCCF. Thank you to everyone involved in ensuring our community received funding to help us recover and experience even more growth in the upcoming months.
