Did you know there are 8 different park departments in Hendricks County? As the Parks Foundation, we partner with them all in different ways to fit their community’s needs. One way is hosting a master calendar to find all park events/programs in one place.
You may also find programs from other park partners that support our mission in some way. If you host community events and would like to get on our calendar email us at admin@pfohc.org.
When you find an event or program you want to attend please double-check with the park host before showing up. Sometimes details get changed or we make small mistakes when entering the information. To be on the safe side, always check. You can find the host department in every calendar listings for your convenience.

Harvest Time Hayrides
October 12, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free== HAYRIDE ==
Riders will experience an approximately 10-minute long tractor-driven hayride through the nature area and around the large pond. Loading and unloading will take place behind Avon Town Hall. You will ride in a wagon with wooden benches and a hay-lined floor. The last person to be admitted for a ride will be at the discretion of the hayride operators so that the last hayride can occur no later than 7:45 pm.
== CAMPFIRE COOKING ==
A limited supply of wooden kid-friendly skewers, hot dogs, and s’ mores will be available to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. A limited supply of apple cider will be available to drink.
== CRAFTS ==
A limited supply of Halloween themed paper face masks will be available to decorate. Local artist Flory Phillips will be available for instruction and direction.
== CARVING ==
A limited supply of pumpkins and tools will be available at the park shelter for carving. You take home the pumpkin that you carve.
== FOOD ==
Amazing Hazel’s will be selling prepared food at the park shelters. Seating will be available at the shelter.
== MINI-PUMPKIN LAUNCHING ==
Mini-pumpkins, or similar items such and gourds or apples, will be available for you to launch via a standard water balloon launcher.
