Did you know there are 8 different park departments in Hendricks County? As the Parks Foundation, we partner with them all in different ways to fit their community’s needs. One way is hosting a master calendar to find all park events/programs in one place.
You may also find programs from other park partners that support our mission in some way. If you host community events and would like to get on our calendar email us at email@example.com.
When you find an event or program you want to attend please double-check with the park host before showing up. Sometimes details get changed or we make small mistakes when entering the information. To be on the safe side, always check. You can find the host department in every calendar listings for your convenience.
Have fun at our parks!

Maple Syrup Days and Pancake Breakfast
March 14, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
Come share in a true farm-to-table experience. Every year the sugar maple trees at McCloud Nature Park produce sap with a high sugar content. We tap these trees by boring holes in their trunks and when daytime temperatures increase, sap runs into the attached buckets. Staff and volunteers collect the sap daily, which is then placed in an evaporator where it is reduced into the delicious maple syrup. It’s an amazing process that visitors can witness and participate in first-hand!
Pancake Breakfast: Slip into the Nature Center to warm up and enjoy our popular “all-the-pancakes-you-can-eat” fundraiser for breakfast or lunch. The pancakes feature our very own maple syrup made using sap from McCloud’s own maple trees!
For any freewill donation that you’re comfortable with (suggested donation: $10/adult; $6/child), your family can eat as many pancakes as it takes to fill your belly, and you can also partake in fruit salad, sausage, orange juice and coffee.
This fundraiser is brought to you by The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County, which funds improvements to Hendricks County Parks.
