Did you know there are 8 different park departments in Hendricks County? As the Parks Foundation, we partner with them all in different ways to fit their community’s needs. One way is hosting a master calendar to find all park events/programs in one place.
You may also find programs from other park partners that support our mission in some way. If you host community events and would like to get on our calendar email us at admin@pfohc.org.
When you find an event or program you want to attend please double-check with the park host before showing up. Sometimes details get changed or we make small mistakes when entering the information. To be on the safe side, always check. You can find the host department in every calendar listings for your convenience.

Witch’s Ride Avon & Free Community Trunk-n-Treat

FreePut on your best witch, goblin, or ghoul costume and grab that broom (bicycle) and get ready to ride your way around Avon Town Hall Park! Participants of the first annual Witch’s Ride Avon will make their way around the lake trail and toss candy to tiny ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating in the park. Candy is included with ticket purchase. All remaining proceeds benefit the Avon Public Safety Fund, and we are specifically trying to give to the K-9 unit!
After your ride, dance about with your trusty broom to the spooktacular sounds of the DJ… but be on the lookout for the the crazy underground flash mob dancers! Grab a bite at one of the onsite food trucks, and take your mini-wizards around to snag more treats at the trunk-n-treat sponsored by other local businesses! Vote on the best decorated trunk! Winner takes home the best trophy ever!
The trunk-or-treat is free for the community and will start at 5pm. The ride will take place at 6pm and go until we run out of candy! So bring your hoards and have a great fun-filled family evening riding your broom and being spooky!
