800 Reasons to Celebrate Summer
The bugs were bugging. The temperatures were climbing. And, yes, we got a little wet along the way.
But none of that stopped a record 800 participants from showing up for the 2026 Summer Fun Run & Walk Series, presented by Hendricks Regional Health!
Throughout the summer, we ran, walked, biked, and strolled our way through 12 different parks and trails in Hendricks County, stamping passports and making plenty of memories along the way.
And together, we raised $57,000 for the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County (PFOHC).
A summer worth exploring
One of our favorite things about the Summer Fun Run & Walk Series is getting to experience just how much the parks and trails in Hendricks County have to offer.
Each week brought something different: a new trail to explore, another passport sticker to collect, familiar faces to catch up with, and new friends to meet.
We saw runners chasing their fastest miles and families taking their time. We saw kids, dogs, strollers, walking groups, and plenty of people who simply wanted to spend a summer evening outside.
Through the heat, rain, and more than a few persistent bugs, you kept showing up.
But we do it for something bigger
The Summer Fun Run & Walk Series is a lot of fun. But those miles have meaning.
The $57,000 raised this summer supports PFOHC's work to enhance parks and trails in Hendricks County, helping create more opportunities for people to get outside, connect with nature, and enjoy the places that make our community special.
That's what this series is really about.
Every registration, every passport stamp, and every mile helps us invest in parks and trails that bring people together…not just during the summer, but all year long.
