The 2023 Summer Fun Run Kicks off with a Bang!
The 2023 Summer Fun Run & Walk kicked off last week at Talon Stream Park in Plainfield, and wow, what a turnout.
It was a toasty day with temps in the 90s, but the scenic 3-mile trail offered plenty of shade, and our sponsor of the week, Banning Engineering, provided refreshing ice-cold water. The presenting sponsor, Hendricks Regional Health, was also there handing out goodies and answering questions. We even had a special visit from the Plainfield Chick-fil-A Cow!
Nearly 350 eager Summer Fun Run & Walk participants showed up to collect their t-shirts, stickers and take on the week-one course. We saw lots of smiles and high-fives as people ranging in age from two to seven-two victoriously crossed the finish line.
It’s not too late to get in on the fun if you or someone you know would still like to register. We have eleven more awesome parks and trails to explore from now until the end of August. Your race entry benefits the work of the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County to ensure the livelihood of outdoor spaces in our community.
